Whatsoever Is Not Of Faith

Hebrews 11:6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Romans 14:23: And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Eating or not eating is not a horrible sin. The horrible sin is unbelief in God, in anything, large or small. When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, the sin was not eating fruit. The sin was eating FORBIDDEN fruit. They did not believe God. They believed Satan. How often do I take matters into my own hands? How often do I obey my flesh? How often do you? How often do I lean upon my own understanding? How often am I influenced by the world around me? How often am I influenced by one of Satan*s lies? How often do I forget to ask the Lord for His guidance and will? How often do I forget about Him altogether? How often do I doubt or question what the Bible says? How often do I make it fit my desires?

Unbelief in God is the greatest sin because God is worthy of faith. He is the most deserving of our trust than any being anywhere in the universe. Faith in Him is the only way we can become alive spiritually and the only way we can escape His wrath. Faith is the place of safety and the guard rail on both sides of our path. There is great danger in any sort of unbelief, in the unbelief that refuses to receive Christ but also in refusing or neglecting to walk in His will.

2 Corinthians 5:7: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
